What do I need to make cinnamon brown sugar coffee?

  • Cinnamon– the main flavor and star of this coffee creamer. But, don’t worry, it is not over-powering!
  • Brown sugar– the brown sugar just adds a touch of sweetness, but nothing over the top
  • Vanilla extract – vanilla helps enhance the flavors in this recipe and adds a subtle extra flavor. I like to use this one.
  • Milk – you can use any milk you’d like (2%, whole etc.). I used whole for this recipe.
  • Coffee– prepare your coffee any way you’d like! You are adding a flavored creamer to your cup of coffee. Keep reading for notes on hot coffee vs. iced coffee

To make this cinnamon coffee recipe, you’re basically making a creamer to add as much or little to your coffee. This recipe will make enough for two coffees, depending on how much creamer you like in your coffee.

As I mentioned above, you can use this cinnamon coffee creamer in cold coffee or iced coffee, but the methods are slightly different.

Cinnamon Hot Coffee

  • If you’re doing this like a hot coffee – add ingredients to coffee and stir

Cinnamon Iced Coffee

If you want to enjoy an iced coffee, you will cook all of the ingredients together in a pan and then add to your iced coffee. The simple steps are below.

  • Make coffee
  • Combine all ingredients in sauce pan. Stir to heat so ingredients melt together.
  • Pour coffee over ice and add creamer.
  • Shake – this is an important step in the iced coffee. It helps give the iced coffee a bit of foam and creaminess.

If you have any creamer leftover you can put it in an air tight jar to keep in the refrigerator. Then, all you have to do to enjoy a cinnamon coffee is take it out of the refrigerator, pour over coffee and enjoy!

Notes

When you add the ingredients to hot coffee, they melt, but if you're making this into an iced coffee, you need to make it into a coffee creamer and then pour it over coffee, so that the brown sugar melts!

Sounds delicious! I love Starbucks as well as keep the small local shops as busy as I can. This summer I’m loving a simple (hot) latte with plant milk and a tiny bit of honey…or this wonderful iced tea latte one of my fav shops make: black rose tea with milk and a squirt of raspberry (?). I discovered you just last week – already loving the recipes and fun family stories. Congrats on the newest, yet-to-make-their-debut, fam member 😉

I don’t normally like any sweetener in my coffee, but an Indian restaurant in my old neighborhood used to make these amazing iced cardamom coffees. A little sweet, so good. I still think about them, years later 🙂

I’m a Cold Brew coffee fan and have been for many years, long before it was hip! I make it at home with the Toddy maker. It’s definitely more economical and you get to use the coffee that you prefer.

Couldn’t agree more – it’s kind of an art form to make a good cold brew at home – I too have been a fan for years, but not gonna lie, love how it’s becoming more popular so I can get them more places.

I confess. I do not like coffee. At all. I do not even like coffee ice cream. So this is an excellent recipe, no doubt, for those who can appreciate it. Anything you can add to coffee to mitigate the coffee-ness is 5 stars in my book! So my favorite coffee drink is one with lots of cream, sugar/honey, and spices without the coffee and adding either cocoa or tea, making either Mexican Hot Chocolate or Chai Latte. I do like a bit of coffee in dark chocolate cake recipes but just don’t tell me it’s there!!

I like dark roast with a teaspoon of half and half in morning. In summer I love iced lattes ( espresso, milk, ice and sweet cream to top it off).
